Contesting is new for me.  But I really do love the challange. 2010 is the first time I have actually posted log entries and so far, the year is going pretty well.  The links here are my 3830 soapbox comments and initial log submissions.  As well as the actual "official"scoring.

With the limited antenna farm here at this QTH, I don't expect to be taking any national awards but I am on a hunt to dominate the local division of stealh antenna shooters!  That's one way way for a little pistol to call a win - make sure the fish pond you are playing in is very very small.  :)

My favorite type is RTTY - it's the combination of extreme demands the 100% duty cycle mode makes on station equipment - and having the machine decode (well, most of the decode work anyway!) allows me to stay at it without the "mental fog" that eventually sets in after a long stretch of CW contesting.

RTTY contesting is the fastest growing of all contest modes.   Log sumission rates are up about 10x in the last 15 year period compared to just 2x for CW/SSB based on the CQ trending data.

Interested in RTTY contesting?  Take a look at Don's page HERE.

In 2011, I hope to participate in more of the traditional CW contests and more in the low band contests now that I have a basic 160/80m capability.

Hope these web pages and the soapbox comments provide a good laugh.  I look forward to seeing you in the 'tests.
